Eternal Spring
*if you wished flowers bloomed all year long, close your eyes and sing this song*
The Story
Part I
There once was a wishing well that could only be found when you needed it most, if you wanted wealth or fame it would not appear- only in your most dire hour did it exist.
Winter was especially hard this year, and although many of the villagers wished it would stop snowing...the well would not appear. Was it because they were wishing half heartedly or because they didn't truly believe they could be saved by the well? Who could wish until it pained them? Who could want something so much and not be crippled by despair when it didn't come true?
"Only a child has such a pure heart..." came a voice.
"Who's there??!" yelled a villager...
no reponse came...
"No one's there, it's just the wind...." said another villager.
"So do we send a child, it made sense....?" said a third villager.
So the village sent a child into the woods to seek out the mysterious well. The child was an orphan who had lost their parents to the cold of the past winter-- if anyone were to wish for spring and mean it~ it was this child.
As the child walked through the wintery tundra searching for the well that had never been seen....pink blossoms began appearing in front of them.
"follow me..."
Part II
All of a sudden a well appeared. In their heart the child knew this was the well of legend. Posessed by the spirit of the well the child spoke these words...
"I believe in spring and I believe in you, make winter end, fantasy come true"
Upon the end of the song the well dissappeared and yellow flowers grew in it's place... Trees that had been barren were restored and in bloom. Spring had returned to the land and winter was over.
Even though their wish will be granted, all who wish upon the well can never return from the forest. So the next time you feel the warm breeze of spring or see flowers bloom, think of the child whose name was never known, and their pure, untainted wish for happiness and the price of your own....
